Hi,

I have installed the new DVT 2.6.7.. I have noticed one new error that I was not getting before in my test images.. DVT shows the following ionformation next to error flag:

Error: Attribute (0028,3010) expected according to condition: WEAK ( T[T[VALUE T[./T[0x00080068]] ANY = FOR PRESENTATION] AND T[PRESENT T[./T[0x00281050]]]], )

It is as if this field should be filled for For Presentation images and I was testiung with MG For Presentation images.. My understanding was as both WL Center and WL Width provided, this LUT is not needed.. I found this explanation on the web:

"(0028,3010) VOI LUT Sequence 1C Defines a sequence of VOI LUTs. See C.8.11.3.1.5 for further explanation.
Required if Presentation Intent Type (0008,0068) is FOR PRESENTATION and Window Center (0028,1050) is not
present. May also be present if Window Center (0028,1050) is present."

Is there something wrong in the logical wiring of this field? Again, I did not have error flag for the same images with previous DVT and definition files..

I will be glad if someone illuminates this behaviour I noticed.

Regards..

LS,

thisis an easy one to answer .

It is already part of the definition files version 1.1.10.

Maybe it just has not been loaded yet. In which application(s) do you want to use this definition file?

Regards,
Marco Kemper

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum. With the next release of the definition files, would it be possible to add one for Breast Tomosynthesis Storage Class (1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.13.1.3)? Or perhaps there is another way of adding it to the current one? I have the latest, I think, 1.1.10.
Thanks -

Hi,

I downloaded the file and got exactly the same result on my (windows xp) system. I also tried to open your DICOM file with DICOMscope 3.5.1 (from office) and got a "Load failed" message.

As both DVTk and DICOMscope (which are completely independent DICOM implementations) and MicroDICOM (as you mentioned) cannot open this file, probably some problem(s) are present on byte level. These are of course the most difficult problems to solve.

Helping you further with this problem is outside the possibilities of DVTk.

Maybe another user on this forum wants to give it a try.

If you want to get dedicated support to solve this problem (even if this needs to be checked on byte level), also check http://www.dvtk.org/modules/wiwimod/i ... e=Services&cmenu=home.

Regards,
Marco

The exact error message is:

System
.Exception in MediaSession.csException of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

I can load the image without errors using ImageJ and Sante DICOM Viewer FREE, but not using MicroDicom, so there must be something wrong with my image. I counted on DVT to tell me what...

I also tried to look at the DICOM header using DCMEditor, but it crashed similarly. I could look at the header using Sante DICOM Hexadecimal Viewer, but it's quite gruesome to find the error manually.

I'm using the latest version (2.6.6), on Windows XP SP3, 32 bits, with all the latest updates.

I tried to attach the image, but even compressed with .7z, it exceeds the 1000 K limit (it's a little over 4 MB). So I uploaded it to Mediafire, here:

Hi Karsten,

a few years ago, we received a software contribution from Agfa to be able to display strings that are encoded with a subset of character sets that are defined by the DICOM standard. This has been build into e.g. DVT and the Storage SCP Emulator.

The current set of character sets for which this is possible can be found in the <install directory>\Storage SCP Emulator\CharacterSets. GB 18030 is however not part of the supported character sets.

After implementing this display funcionality we tried multipe times to get a description from the software developer from Agfa (we created the original code) how we could extend the set of supported character sets. My guess is he was to busy with other things as we did not receive this information...

So in this case, I don't think we can help you with this.

If somehow you would like to give it a try to extend the character sets, please let us know, so we can pinpoint you to the code involved.

Regards,
Marco

I've had this problem with DICOM Compare, I'll try the fix and hope that it works. (I'm running Windows with English language but Swedish formats).

Hi all,

is it possible to enhance the Storage SCP Emulator to display characters from GB 18030 character set?

Regards
Karsten Mueller
